A blackout blind is basically a roman style window covering made from a special fabric which does not allow light to enter the room when the blind is lowered. The special texture of the fabric ensures that the window dressings can be wiped clean, minimizing maintenance requirements.

Manually operated, Louvolite blackout blinds feature a top cassette system which houses the control mechanism operated through a side chain or a spring control mechanism.
